Maybe Monday

I only have an hour of internet and I did not prepare a post for the last two days, maybe I will get one written for later.  But the short story of it is we are still not digging.  The 118 does not run on a consistent schedule.  We have been in Rome for the last two days.  Yesterday we saw the Capitoline Museum and the Forum Boarium.  Today we went to the Vatican Museum.  Tomorrow we will be going to Ostia.  And we might get to clean a Baulk Wall on Monday!!!  But we are working with the Italian Government so don’t hold your breath.

I am still without constant internet so these posts will come in bursts.  But I am sure you will all take your time with reading them so enjoy.

About handyatmurlo

This journal has evolved from a blog about my archaeology days in Italy to my travels in the world with my wife. I am a Latin and Social Studies teacher at St. Columba School. I earned my MA at CU Boulder, my teaching certificate from Fort Lewis College and my BA at UMass Amherst. I have spent my summers working in Italy as an archaeologist at three different sites. One I have worked at for 10 years at Poggio Civitate at Vescovado di Murlo. I have worked at the Villa of Maxentius in Rome for 2 years, before the project ended. I also spent 2 summers at the FSU excavations in Cosa.
